Care Work Advocacy in Obunga and Nyalenda Settlements
We recognize care work often unpaid and invisible as essential labour that sustains families and communities. Our advocacy centers grassroots women caregivers through:
- Support Group Formation & Psychosocial Healing
We facilitate safe spaces for emotional healing, peer mentorship, and collective action among women navigating economic hardship, grief, and gender-based violence. - Access to National Health Insurance (SHA)
We accompany caregivers through SHA registration, advocate for inclusive coverage, and link them to local health services and community health volunteers. - Recognition of Care Work as Economic Labor
Through participatory forums and storytelling, we push for policy recognition and budget allocations that value caregiving as dignified labor. - Training on Social Accountability & Public Resource Monitoring
Women are equipped to conduct social audits, track local government spending, and advocate for transparency in health and social service delivery. - Youth & Intergenerational Engagement
We promote dialogue between generations, encouraging youth-led storytelling and bridging traditional caregiving with modern policy frameworks.
